Seminole's Animal Control Discusses Successes in Reducing Stray Animals

At the [2:25:55] mark of the September 10th, 2024, City Council meeting, Seminole’s animal control department gave an update on their efforts to reduce the city's stray animal population. City staff noted the reduced number of dead animals on the streets due to their proactive trapping and removal of stray dogs, raccoons, and other wildlife.

The department, which has also been working on improvements to the local animal shelter, faced challenges such as rehoming aggressive animals. During the discussion at [2:31:25], council members commended the animal control team for their success in creating a safer community environment, while ongoing pest control and shelter refurbishments were addressed as future goals.
