But with so many listings, those preview tours can feel like a blur.  Don't worry, my team and I are here to help!  Here are 5 items to focus on during your Oklahoma City home previews:

1. Location, Location, Location!

It's a cliché for a reason!  Living in Oklahoma City, Oklaoma offers a variety of neighborhoods, each with its own vibe.  Think about your commute, access to schools (if needed), and proximity to the amenities that matter to you.  Is it walkable restaurants or a quick highway jump?  During your preview, take a spin around the block to get a feel for the area.

2. Curb Appeal and the Big Picture

First impressions count!  Look at the overall condition of the house and yard.  Are there any cracks in the foundation or signs of roof damage?  Is the landscaping overgrown?  While minor cosmetic issues can be fixed, major structural problems can be costly down the road.

3. Functionality Flows

Walk through the house imagining how you'll live there.  Is the layout open and inviting, or is it chopped up and isolating?  Think about traffic flow – will everyone be bottlenecked in the kitchen in the morning?  Pay attention to storage space – closets, cabinets, and pantries.  Don't forget to check out the flow of the backyard – is there a patio for entertaining, or is it a steep hill with nowhere to relax?

4.  Peek Behind the Pretty Pictures

Sure, the kitchen looks amazing in the listing photos. But open the cabinets and drawers!  Are they old and rickety or spacious and well-maintained?   Look at the appliances – are they new and energy-efficient or on their last legs?  Don't be afraid to peek in the basement or attic – what kind of shape are they in?

5. Don't Forget the "Feels Like Home" Factor

This might be the most important tip!  Beyond the checklist, how does the house make you feel?  Can you picture yourself curling up with a good book in the living room, or having a backyard barbecue with friends?  Trust your gut instinct – sometimes a house just feels right.

Bonus Tip!  Take notes and pictures during your previews.  This will help you compare properties later and remember the details that matter most to you.
